DATA AFFAIRS is a platform that provides students, researchers and teachers of social and cultural anthropology with an overview of the topics of research data management. The platform aims to encourage a (critical) examination of the demands of Open Science and at the same time supports the reflective and systematic handling of empirical, especially qualitative, research data. Practical examples and application-orientated exercises invite users to engage in interactive self-study. DATA AFFAIRS was developed in the Collaborative Research Centre 1171 ‘Affective Societies’ and published in 2023. In addition to the German edition, an English-language edition was als produced with funding from the Fachinformationsdienstes Sozial- und Kulturanthropologieand published on 9 May 2025.
