OES is an open-source software that benefits from being used and enhanced by the community.Within the OES community, researchers, developers, and representatives of various institutions collaborate to expand and improve OES as a research and publication infrastructure for open-access, lemmas-based publishing, in line with the needs of the academic community.

There are numerous ways to get involved and contribute to the development and dissemination of OES beyond code development. For example:

• contributing OES materials such as the manual or checklist or co-editng
• co-organising of or participating in our community meetings, both online and offline
• participating in public relations tasks (we are planning a new flyer, among other things)
• networking, e.g. introducing OES to the academic community, publishing on OES, using OES in workshops or courses)
• We are open to your ideas!

Since March 2025, our DFG project ComOES has supported the establishment and consolidation of OES.
