News from Oct 31, 2025
On 14 November, a workshop will be held as part of the DFG project 'Building and Sustaining a Community for the Open Encyclopedia System (OES)'. The workshop will focus on the role of communities in ensuring the sustainability of open-source research software. In line with the OES software, the focus will be on widely used research softwares in the digital humanities that already incorporate community activities. The workshop will address key questions relating to community building: How can communities strengthen and support research software in the long term? How can new contributors be recruited and motivated to take on responsibility? How can sustainable structures be established within institutions or independently? How can integration into scientific practice be achieved?
Participation is by invitation only. If you would like to join, please contact the project team via email: info@open-encyclopedia-system.org
The workshop is organised by the Digital Research Infrastructures team at FUB-IT.
