With the release of OES Core 2.4.0 and a series of accompanying module and theme updates, OES continues to evolve. The new version brings both technical improvements – such as a more modular, extensible architecture – and practical tools for editorial work and new visualisations.

This is accompanied by updated modules for maps, timelines and media, as well as new visualisation approaches such as monadic exploration and linked lists, which enable serendipitous discoveries in complex data spaces. The OES themes have also been adapted to the new core version and tidied up.

Overall, this release continues the strategy of expanding OES as a flexible, future-proof platform for open access digital humanities publishing projects.
