How you can collaborate with us

We have experience of working with many OES applications to varying degrees and over different time periods. The types of cooperation we currently offer are described below:

Advice on the use of OES

We are happy to advice you on OES if you

  • are unsure whether OES is the right software for your online reference work,
  • would like to learn more about individual features of OES,
  • need an additional feature to support your reference work,
  • have practical questions about using OES, such as those relating to data entry and maintenance,
  • are a member of Freie Univrsität Berlin and require an OES instance,
  • or are interested in the sustainability of OES.
Please contact us at info@open-encyclopedia-system.org. We will then arrange a meeting on-site at the FU or via Webex.

In the meantime, you can use the OES demo and our OES manual to familiarise yourself with OES and explore other OES applications.

Advice on project applications using OES

If you are planning to use OES as part of a third-party funded project (e.g. DFG or ERC) and have any questions regarding the OES-related sections of your application, we can help. We can support you with the following:

  • the design of an online reference work,
  • the OES-related work packages,
  • the OES-related sections in the data management plan,
  • and the estimation of human resources.
Please contact us at info@open-encyclopedia-system.org. We will then arrange a meeting on-site at the FU or via Webex.

Take a look at the projects that are already using OES, as well as at our own project plans.

Joint projects using OES

Are you looking for a digital partner to implement your project? We work alongside researchers in third-party funded projects, contributing our many years of experience in project development and implementation to the realisation of online encyclopaedias. lexicons and similar formats.

Please contact us at info@open-encyclopedia-system.org. We will then arrange a meeting on-site at the FU or via Webex.

Check out our DFG projects using OES and the wide range of activities carried out by the Digital Research Infrastructure (DFI) division.

Advice on using the OES source code

We can help you with any technical questions you may have. For example, if you

  • use the OES source code on GitHub and have questions about installation,
  • want to adapt the data model and are looking for the best approach,
  • want to learn more about the configuration options of OES,
  • or have enhanced OES during your use of it and would like to make the code available to the community.
Please contact us at info@open-encyclopedia-system.org. We will then arrange a meeting on-site at the FU or via Webex.

Before installation, please read the information on GitHub, especially the README.md file. The OES manual contains information on configuration options and customising the data model via the Data Factory.
