OES Core 3.0.0 delivers a comprehensive structural overhaul of the Open Encyclopedia System. Key changes include a modularized architecture, a revised access and permission management system, and more efficient initialization for application plugins. New REST APIs to linked open data services such as ROR and ORCID, together with a new REST API export, make it possible to provide published content in formats like TXT, JSON-LD, and XML/TEI, making it more discoverable and reusable for scholarly purposes. New blocks for editorial work have also been added, including Context Link, Abstract, and Post Link.
A new block theme will be released shortly to give OES applications a more modern and flexible frontend presentation. With this release, OES Core 3.0.0 continues to advance the platform as a future-proof, standards-compliant infrastructure for digital humanities publishing projects in open access.
